Meet Ariana
Ariana Moran (she/her)
Clinical Social Worker Associate
__
Hi! I’m Ariana, a multiracial woman raised in northern California but calling Portland my home for 13+ years .As a clinical social worker, I believe all people, especially BIPOC communities, deserve equal access to quality, compassionate care. Systems of oppression have long created barriers to healthcare and contributed to stigma and shame surrounding mental health. I aim to bring awareness to these systems and the ways they shape our lived experiences. I believe acknowledging historical and generational trauma is important to better understand ourselves and honor those who came before us.
I have over 10 years of experience supporting children and families in school and home settings. I am passionate about working closely with young children and families as they navigate each stage of life. Throughout my experience, I have seen how a lack of support and understanding can impact a child’s social-emotional development, sense of safety, and overall well-being.
I believe how we show up for children can make a meaningful difference in their ability to regulate, connect, and feel supported. I also believe we can learn so much through a child’s play, as it can communicate emotions and experiences that may not yet be available through words.
My goal is to create a welcoming, trauma-informed, warm, culturally responsive environment where all identities are respected. I believe you hold many of the answers within yourself, and I am here to walk alongside you, offer support, and create space for growth and understanding.
I look forward to supporting you and/or your family on this journey.
Together, we'll embark on a healing expedition to rediscover the trailheads leading to your genuine truths and self-liberation. I'll be alongside you with a map and compass, as we venture into the unseen and overlooked parts of yourself, eager to be acknowledged. Our exploration will be guided by gentle curiosity, encompassing your whole being-mind, body, and soul-as you determine the direction you wish to pursue.
My approach to therapy integrates an anti-oppressive, multicultural, and social justice lens to contextualize your experiences and deepen our understanding of "What happened?". During our sessions, we will be using modalities including but not limited to IFS, Somatics, and Mindfulness techniques as a way to honor and celebrate all parts of you.
